Paddock Hill claims again....

Round ten of the 924 championship started with an entertaining qualifying session, Graham Heard took his second consecutive pole, with Gary Duckman an extremely close second. Will Penrose took third and Martin Todd rounded off row two in fourth. Less than a second separated pole and sixth and just over two and a half seconds separating pole and sixteenth. Phil Hatswell managed a respectable seventh before retiring into the notorious Paddock Hill Bend Gravel Trap. Guest driver Neale Hurren managed fourteenth only fifteen hundredths of a second behind Steve King in thirteenth.

The race found exiting battles throughout the field, and a mostly clean getaway for all saw an out of shape Cieran Brewer spin at the bottom of Paddock Hill Bend, dropping down to eighteenth from twelfth. Tight battles ensued at the tail of the field as Cieran clawed his way up the grid to eventually finish in tenth. A fierce battle ensued as Gary Duckman laid a fruitless assault on Graham Heard, who went on to claim his third victory of his four race career.

Further down the field Paul Finn enjoyed a detour on to the Rally X track at the base of Paddock Hill Bend and gained a ninth place finish.

An unfortunate puncture put Phil Hatswell out of the race on lap three and a swing arm failure on Jonathon Ramsay’s car put him out on lap ten.
A battle between Kamal Kalsi and Martin Hall ended with contact at the brow of Paddock Hill and both ended up in the merciless gravel trap, Kamal unfortunately was unable to escape its clutches but Martin did only to retire two laps later with a puncture.
Guest driver Neale Hurren gained a controversial black and white flag for driving standards after an unfortunate trip on the grass at Graham Hill corner.
Gary Duckman Claimed Second and Lee McNamara finished in third.

Finally congratulations to Gary Duckman as he has won the Lodge Sports Porsche 924 Championship 2006
