Rookie dominates at Silverstone!

It was set to be a scorcher at Silverstone as the temperatures hit over 30 degrees, the racing was sure to be just as hot. With new driver Graham Heard qualifying a magnificent second place in only his third 924 race it was sure to be interesting. As the lights went out it was a flying Will Disdale from third place that lead into copse corner, followed by Graham and Will Penrose, then Andy Whalley, leaping from sixth to forth. Andy was being challenged for forth place by Richard Mowbray, AKA The Red Baron and as they entered Luffield, they collided, gifting Gary Duckman forth place. Will Disdale suffered a mechanical problem and was forced to retire, moving Gary up to third place behind Will Penrose. Will was now challenging Graham for the lead, but a mistake into copse sent his spinning off, handing Gary second place. Will did however manage to recover and rejoin the race. Gary was unable to catch Graham though as he marched off to his first 924 victory and setting the fastest lap, with Gary second and Will third. Special mention has to go to Ernie and the Lodge Sports team who worked tirelessly through Friday evening to get some of the drivers on the grid for Saturday after they suffered mechanical problems during practice.
