Cadwell park saw the 7th round of our championship (19th June). The weather for qualifying was absolutely scorching which saw Steve Cheetham take pole position, Carl Powell came slightly behind with a difference of .073 and Will Disdale 1.31 seconds short of Steve’s time.
Alister Kirkham second outing of this year gave a brilliant performance with 4th fastest which was building up to be a very good race.
As the temperature increased the race took place at 14.13 with Steve on pole. Carl Powel had a better start and lead into coppice but Steve passed going into Charlie on the inside. Carl was very close waiting for his opportunity to pass Steve but span coming into the goose neck which put him back down the field and left will in second place and Alister 3rd.
Due to a shortened race from 20min to 15 and the the chequered falg came out at 11miniutes it was disappointing as there were still battles going on down the field.
Steve cheetham won the race by approximately 18 seconds unfortunately carl had further problems and did not finish the race much to the disappointment of Steve. Every one wishes Carl better luck at Oulton Park in 4 weeks time.
