Simon Stead battled for 3rd/4th position at Mallory after starting near the back. Qualifying had left him at the back of the grid due to a linkage failure with his cars gear box. Simon only had 3rd gear to qualify.
Simon soon took stock of the situation and after the race was restarted due to an incident with Martin Todd and Richard Mowbray. Simon jumped 2 positions on the starting grid and soon embarrassed many seasoned drivers by carving up the field.
Simon said” this has been one of the best experiences of my life and I would like to thank the Porsche racing drivers association for this opportunity to race in there series. It has certainly giving me a hunger to race some more and I hope to race in the series later on in the season.”
