Self-build Boxsters for the New Season

Drivers are doing it for themselves

Despite the number of race-ready Porsches currently on the market, it seems that most of the new drivers coming into the Championship for the 2014 season are more interested in building their own cars. This includes Richard Avery, currently building a Class A Boxster from a 2001 donor car - and being an expert Vehicle Paintwork Specialist running his own company, you can expect this particular car to look pretty special.

Established in 1947 in Leighton Buzzard, Avery’s started life by running a taxi service and then broadened out to coaches. This was followed by transport, petrol services and vehicle repairs. Today the company is proud of its purpose built facility with a fully equipped 8-bay workshop including 18 metre inspection pit, and 8 and 18 metre spray ovens. Being a family concern, they maintain the attention to detail and high quality of service that has become elusive to many competitors.

Richard's car will be sporting #6 when it joins the grid at his home circuit of Silverstone in April.
