Championship Showdown at Snetterton!

The weekend of the 23rd / 24th October sees the final meeting of the 2010 BRSCC Porsche Championship at Snetterton in Norfolk. It promises to be a thrilling climax to what has been a sensational inaugural year for the Championship, with the perfect scenario of a Boxster driver and a 924 driver going head to head for outright Championship victory.

Dave Clark has been the class of the Boxster field since joining the series at the second race of the season, taking a staggering 10 victories in 12 races entered, yet he goes into the Snetterton weekend with a slender 2 point lead over the recently crowned 924 Champion, Andrew Hannington. Andrew has been in the form of his career this season, taking three Class wins and numerous podiums, but has faced stiff competition from the 924 field, which has boasted 7 different race winners this year!

Whilst Dave and Andrew battle over the top spot, the remaining podium position in the overall standings could feasibly be taken by any one of four drivers. Regular top three 924 finishers Alistair Kirkham, Steve Brown and Adam Croft will be doing all they can to hold off the strong challenge of mid-season Boxster entrant Richard Sykes....it's impossible to call who will take the final spoils!

As if that weren't enough excitement, there are even more scores to be settled throughout the field, with all drivers looking to end up as top dog in their own private battles! There's the Dave Hughes vs. Nick Hull season long Boxster fight to resolve, the in-house Flegg Transport 924 war between Jayson Flegg and Mark Marshall, and of course the not insignificant honour of Top Rookie to be played out between new boys Jones, Mackenzie, Siddal and Bravo!

A very encouraging sign for next season is that the Boxster field will see three new drivers join the seven regulars for the last race at Snetterton. Recent 924 new boy and winner Richard Styrin will be switching to the quicker Boxster to evaluate his options for next year....if his stunning form in the 924 is anything to go by, the Boxster regulars might be slightly anxious about ‘The Stig’ joining them! Mick Fellar will also be entering his Boxster for the first time, and Brookspeed will be running a hire car for Lee Fitzpatrick, the 2009 National Legends Cars Champion.

With this being the second visit of the season to the high speed, 1.9 mile Snetterton circuit, all drivers will be looking to hit the ground running at the start of qualifying and end the season on a high. It has all the ingredients to create an awesome season finale!

Make sure you are there to catch all the action!
