Donington Season Finale

924s Take It To The Wire at Donington

With Rick Styrin having already claimed the Class A Boxsters title, and with Bernie Printy missing the final round meaning that Rebecca Jackson takes the Class B crown unchallenged, all eyes will be on the 924s where Alastair Kirkham and Simon Hawksley will take their battle to the wire over three races at Doninton Park on 19/20th October. Both Stockport man Clive Morison and veteran racer Tony Mekwinski will be snapping at their heels in their challenge to take an overall third.

Drivers returning to the grid after recent absensces will include ex-Class B rivals Steve Brown and Stephen Potts. Joining them will be Dave Fairbrother, putting a toe in the water of Porsche racing having driven in the VW championship this year, and Autosport magazine editor and ex-biker Ben Anderson. The 924s will be joined by Paul Bravo and John Broadley, who both missed Cadwell Park. And Julian Brown, whose season in a Class B Boxster has been dogged by mechanical problems will race again in his car, now upgraded to Class A.

The drivers will be hoping to avoid the fog that dogged last year's season close on the same circuit, where the start of the action was delayed for so long it really did look like the Sunday's racing would have to be abandoned and re-scheduled. With over 30 cars registered for the weekend, this year Saturday will see a morning qualifying session and an afternoon race, with two more races - both to be subsequently shown on Motors TV - on the Sunday. Come and join us for what promises to be a gripping finale to our 2013 season.
