Team Moluto are to mount a four-driver assault on the 924 class championship in the 2017 season. With a range of experience - and ages - the Stockport, Cheshire based team, led by part-time racer Clive Morison expect to land some serious silverware as the season progresses.
He maybe the baby of our team but in car #111, Ryan Lowry has strong credentials. Fresh from a campaign in the Fiestas, Ryan will not only be competing fiercely in every one of the PDA championship rounds with team Moluto Motorsport but he is also the team's social media guru so expect more twitterings from him in the future.
This season will be Ryan's first as a married man; his wife Michelle says she hope to see fireworks in his performances in 2017. The man from Cheshire won his very first race in a 924 at Donington last year so he is definitely the one to watch!
The man with the most experience in 924s in #15 is Philip Waters; 'Philipo' hopes to be competing at every PDA championship round for the very first time this season.
After a winter of discontent, 2017 sees a fitter, lighter OAP of a racing driver. Clive and his team at Moluto are working flat out building a brand new LHD 924 [code named Rosa] ready for the first round on 25th March at Oulton Park, fingers crossed!
Winner of the last 5 out of 6 races of 2016, we hope the old boy can do it again in 2017. The 'Saga Stig' is back and is in a dangerous mood!
Driver of #26, pilot Bernie Printy is from deepest Dartmoor and when he is let out for good behaviour wins the prize for the longest round trip to any of the PDA championship rounds. Bernie will be back in the Moluto Orange 'eeezy car' after skipping the Oulton Park round.
From runner-up in the production Boxster championship in 2013 racing a 924 has been quite a different experience for Bernie - the 924 is over 30 years old and has no brakes, no ABS and no power but with outstanding handling a 924 is a delight to drive and returns similar lap times to the Boxster.
2017 will be a very exciting year for 'Mr Nice Guy'.
And finally, #88 is back! Chris Valentine, Britcar and PDA media man, will begin the season in Bernie's car but will then move to Philip's blue car when 'Rosa' is ready. Chris did two complete seasons in a Class A Boxster, before moving on to Britcar. He will also be competing in the Creventic 24 Hours at Silverstone for the second year running, this time in a Porsche Cayman GT4.
Chris plans to shoehorn his media duties in between 5 rounds of the PDA Championship starting at Oulton Park on 25th March.
Racing a 924 will be quite a different experience for Chris - the 36 year old 924 is a delight to drive and still manages to lap in very similar times to the Class A Boxster. Yet to race a 924, Chris has a real treat in store.
It's hard to believe that there's a cost effective Porsche racing series - but this successful championship really is!
