Linda Warren last night become the recipient of 'Club Racer of the Year' at the first annual Downforce Radio awards, hosted at Simply Race, the Racing Simulator Venue in Milton Keynes. Linda and husband Guy drove down from their home in the North East to receive the award, voted for online by members of the public. Linda won the 924 class of our championship in the 2016 season, only the second female ever to win a class title.
British touring car driver (9 seasons) and 6-times Le Mans veteran Anthony Reid was guest of honour. Also present was Eric Kent, representing The National Autistic Society - Downforce Radio's chosen charity - promoting a video called 'Too much information' which aims to give people an idea of what its like to suffer from this condition.
The award was presented by Downforce founder Jake Sanson, together with Scott Woodwiss, who is both a commenator and marketing manager for BRSCC, the organising body under which the Porsche Racing Drivers' championship runs. Jake Sanson has long been associated with the PDA having commentated on our races in his first year; and we're happy to announce that Downforce Radio will be present throughout our 2017 season.
It's hard to believe that there's a cost effective Porsche racing series - but this successful championship really is!
