924 Race Car visits Springwater School

924 Race Car visits Springwater School

Linda Warren, the Championship's only female driver, together with husband Guy helped us choose Springwater School, a special school for children with a variety of different learning needs, as our official charity for the 2016 season and so far the PDA have raised £320 from the sale of stickers that supporting drivers put on their race cars. In June the couple took Linda's Class C 924 race car to the school so the kids could see the car and chat to Linda about her racing. Talking about the visit, here are quotes from some of the kids:

"It was awesome to see a woman who drives fast cars"

"Wow, just wow!"

"It's a dream come true to see a real Porsche. I do work experience in a garage and when I leave school I'd like to be a mechanic"

"I liked seeing our school name on the car. It made me feel proud".

Sarah Edwards, Head Teacher, said "We are delighted to be so well supported by the Porsche Driver's Association. Their sponsorship is helping to enhance the profile of the school and to raise much needed funds which will allow us to add to the facilities and resources here at Springwater. The pupils are following Linda's progress with great excitement and hope that she can take pole position again next weekend at Oulton Park. Linda is a familiar face in school, not just as Mum to Marcus who is a student in our Sixth Form, but also as a regular volunteer. We are very grateful to the Warren family who have been fantastic supporters of Springwater School for many years."
