Fine Drinks Support Widens for 2016

Fine Drinks Support Widens for 2016

Wetherby, West Yorkshire-based Fine Drinks Cooperative made their first move into motorsport sponsorship in 2015 when they supported both the Championship, through fastest lap awards, and 924 driver Adam Croft. Barry Groves and partner Tony Stones of Champagne Warehouse must have liked what they saw - especially Adam's Championship win - as they've chosen to continue their partnership with us. Each weekend will see the company present awards for best Boxster and best 924 driver, together with a award for best support crew member.

Fine Drinks Cooperative prides itself on the exclusivity of the products it is able to provide its customers whether that is in Champagnes, Wines, Beers or some of the more exclusive Spirits and Cocktails it offers.

The arrival of a second child in Adam's family means his racing must move to the back burner, so as well as supporting a short season for him, the company have chosen to also support a full season of racing for Harrogate driver Lynda Warren.

Linda has been racing with us for a few seasons but last year in both testing and in races, her pace began to show significant improvement and only mechanical failures robbed her of a top-ten finish. Linda switches to a different 924 for the 2016 season. Together with her husband Guy, Linda runs WGC Landscapes, a specialist landscape contractor established for more than 25 years.

Linda said "We're absolutely delighted to secure the support of CW and FDC. The financial assistance is invaluable and we can't thank Barry and Tony enough. We are also very excited at the prospect of running last years championship winning 924. Adam will be an extremely tough act to follow but hopefully the reliability that the car showed last year will help us secure more points. Thanks also to Tony Tyres for offering us the car - with his and team Victoria's experience we will look to improve on last year's season."

Linda and Guy's son attends Springwater School, a special school for children with a variety of different learning needs, and the Championship has agreed to adopt Springwater as their nominated charity for the new season. This will involve a couple of fundraisers and all cars will carry the school logo stickers, paid for by the drivers who showed magnificent generocity last year, raising over £1500 for our chosen charity.

Linda continued "Springwater School in Harrogate are a little overwhelmed at the the idea of their logo being carried on all the race cars. Our son, Marcus, has autism and has attended the school for 7 years. It is a tremendous resource for children with a wide range of disabilities and learning difficulties. They and we are delighted that the PDA has chosen them as the clubs charity for 2016. Roll on Snetterton."
