Fine Drinks Cooperative to Sponsor Fastest Lap Award

The PDA are delighted to announce that we have a new sponsor for the 'Fastest Lap Award' for 2015; from the Rockingham meeting this weekend (16th / 17th May) onwards, Wetherby's Fine Drinks Cooperative, in association with one of their suppliers, Aaldering Wines, will be presenting a bottle of wine to the drivers who secure the Fastest Lap in each race of their class (Boxster and 924). The award will be given during the trophy presentation which takes place in the PDA Marquee at the end of every weekend.

Fine Drinks Cooperative first entered the Porsche Championship just this season, as joint sponsors (along with Champagne Warehouse) of current Porsche 924 competitor and former Boxster driver, Adam Croft. Impressed by what they saw of the racing in both classes during the opening round at Oulton Park in April, they immediately looked at ways of establishing a greater involvement with the Championship as a whole, and what better way to reward the quickest drivers of the weekend than with a bottle of vino, from one of South Africa’s finest vineyards, Aaldering.

In addition to the Fastest Lap Award, Fine Drinks Cooperative will be offering a 10% discount on all wine orders throughout the season to PDA members and associates, with free delivery included on all orders of 24 bottles or more. Further details will be provided in the PDA Marquee during the race weekends.

Barry Groves, director of FDC, will be present at several of the race meetings to present the Fastest Lap Awards, and will be on hand to discuss all things wine and drinks with any interested parties. Of the Award Sponsorship, Mr Groves said "Having had our first taste of motorsport sponsorship with Adam in the 924s this year, we are excited to already be extending our involvement to a Championship level after just one round of the 2015 season. In association with one of our main suppliers, Aaldering Wines, we are proud to be sponsoring the Fastest Lap Award for the Porsche Championship this year, and look forward to bringing our excellent wine and fine drinks offerings to the PDA fraternity."
