Boxster build parts

Postby Wide Boy Rich » Fri Oct 04, 2013 8:54 am

Hi just stripping out original suspension, on my boxster 986 2001,

we have just removed engine out, bought car with knackered lump, found camshaft snapped, and oil scavenger pump seized, just got RPM giving it a diagnose, hoping that the bottom end is ok, I didn't think they were a collision engine, valve hitting piston ??,

where is the best deal to get following parts,

Adjustable ARB's
Stainless steel brake pipes,
adjustable drop links
brake pads
wheels
gt3 lower arms
is it set in stone tyre supplier if so contact details,

at the moment car is stripped, I already have cage and lexan windows,

any contacts or info for the above will be much appreciated

Some of this is in the regs. Brake pads are Mintex, tyres obviously R888s from Tony, cage is Custom Cages.

All registered drivers are entitled to a trade discount (40% I think) on new parts from Porsche Reading - speak to Kelvin Clinch on 0118 971 1611 and mention the BRSCC Porsche Championship. They can next-day courier most parts or there's a van that goes to the OPCs every day, so you could collect from Hatfield or Towcester if you prefer. Anything not in stock can be brought over from Germany in just a few days.

For the rollbars and adjustable links you have a choice to make.

Some people have the Porsche GT3 front bar. You can team this with a rear Tarret bar from the US. Not sure of UK suppliers. Or the H&R front and back kit is available. The latter is stiffer, but solid not hollow so heavier.

A few different companies supply adjustable droplinks, but these seem to be really expensive so get some made up custom instead. I used rndmotorsport.co.uk.
